Thatcher “Mountain Climb” a HUGE success!

by admin on October 22, 2012

It was a quintessential fall day with the sun wrestling with burly clouds on our third Annual Thatcher Park Run. Though almost a Bergman convention (with at least five of the beasts present!), this was a great day for CDSMC! 18 scooters, including several new riders joined in this latest “Twist and Go Eat!©” Our chase car was a very cool first gen Honda hybrid driven by our very own Sylvie!

We hung out at the escarpment overlook with that dramatic landscape and our lovely scooters vying for attention. After a group photo we all engaged in a group decision of where to eat.

Smiths Tavern, our traditional Thatcher ride lunch stop, was closed until 3, so we had to think of another that wouldn’t be swamped by our crowd. We ended up gorging on subs at a chain place on Western Ave near SUNY. After, we all lumbered off to home.

This was the last ride of the season, but we’ll send the occasional news brief as we plan for 2013 rides! We’re open to suggestions, too.

Several CDSMC members will ride well into the cold, and last year we had a surprise mid-winter Twist and Go Eat!©, so if the roads are dry, stay tuned!

Everyone have a good holiday season and a healthy ride-full new year 2013! See you then!

The CDSMC Steering Committee,

Scott, Howard, Dave, and Chuck
